WhatsApp Templates
Create, submit, and monitor official Meta-approved WhatsApp templates.
The WhatsApp Templates section allows you to create and manage official WhatsApp message templates for your WhatsApp campaigns.
Unlike regular messages, WhatsApp templates must be approved by Meta before they can be sent to customers. AlgorithmX is integrated with Meta, so you can create templates, submit them for review, and monitor their approval status directly from the platform without signing in to Meta Business Manager.
WhatsApp Template List
The template list displays all WhatsApp templates and their current approval status.
Common statuses include:
- Approved: Meta has approved the template and it is ready to use in a WhatsApp campaign.
- Pending: The template has been submitted and is waiting for Meta to review it.
- Rejected: Meta has rejected the template and it cannot be used until the issue is addressed.
Other status updates may appear as the template moves through the submission and review process.
From the template list, you can search, filter, and review all templates from one place.
Creating a WhatsApp Template
The template creation process consists of three steps.
Step 1: Set up the template
Configure the basic information that identifies the template:
- Template name
- Language
- Template category, such as Marketing or Utility
The category and language help Meta classify and review the template before it becomes available for campaign use.
The progress bar keeps the three stages visible: Set up template, Template content, and Template button. Enter a clear template name, select the language, then choose the category that accurately represents the message. Use Next only after the required setup information is complete.
Step 2: Add template content
Create the WhatsApp message that will be sent to customers. You can configure:
- Optional header.
- Message body.
- Optional footer.
- Dynamic variables for personalized content.
A live preview is displayed while you edit the message, allowing you to see how the content will appear in WhatsApp before submitting it.
The content step includes a header selector, a body editor, and a footer field. The header and footer are optional. In the body editor, use the formatting controls when required and select Add variable to insert dynamic values for personalized messages. The preview panel on the right updates as the message content changes and also displays the selected category.
Step 3: Add template buttons
Add interactive buttons when customers need to take an action directly from the WhatsApp message. Available button types include:
- Quick Reply
- Visit Website
- Call Phone Number
- Copy Offer Code
Buttons are optional and should support the purpose of the message and the action you want customers to take.
The Buttons step separates Quick reply buttons from Call to action buttons. You can add up to 10 buttons in total; if you add more than three, WhatsApp displays them in a list. Use the counters beside each button type to confirm how many can still be added. Select Submit for Review when the template is ready.
Meta Approval Process
After completing all three steps, select Submit for Review. AlgorithmX sends the template to Meta for approval automatically.
You can monitor every stage of the process directly from the dashboard, including:
- Submission.
- Meta review.
- Approval or rejection.
- Subsequent status updates.
There is no need to open Meta Business Manager to track the template. Once Meta approves the template, it becomes available for selection in your WhatsApp campaigns.
