WhatsApp Campaigns

Create, manage, and measure WhatsApp campaigns through the Meta WhatsApp Business Platform.

WhatsApp Campaigns lets your team create, manage, and monitor messaging campaigns through the Meta WhatsApp Business Platform. AlgorithmX connects directly with Meta APIs, so campaign delivery and performance can be managed from one workspace without relying on a separate messaging provider.

Before you begin

Make sure the required WhatsApp Business connection is available in Meta and WhatsApp Setup. Prepare the contact lists or segments you plan to target and use approved WhatsApp templates when the message requires Meta template approval.

Manage WhatsApp campaigns

The campaign list provides a centralized view of your WhatsApp activity. You can:

  • Create a new WhatsApp campaign.
  • Search and filter campaigns by status.
  • Review recipient lists, target segments, status, variations, and scheduled publish date.
  • Use campaign actions to open and manage a campaign.

Each campaign entry helps the team identify its name, audience, status, number of variations, publish date, and available actions before opening the full details page.

Create and configure a campaign

When creating a campaign, select the connected WhatsApp Business sender, the campaign language, and the relevant contact lists or target segments. Add message variations and set the publish date after the audience and content have been reviewed.

Use a clear internal campaign name so it can be recognized later in the campaign list, Details tab, and performance reporting.

Add campaign information and audience

In the first step, enter the campaign name and language, choose the connected WhatsApp sender, then select the contact lists and/or segments that should receive the campaign.

Set the campaign identity, select the WhatsApp sender, and choose the contact lists or segments to target.

Set campaign timing

Review campaign details

The Details tab provides the complete configuration for the selected campaign. The overview can display:

  • Campaign name and language.
  • WhatsApp Business sender.
  • Contact lists and target segments.
  • Number of variations.
  • Publish date, creation date, and last updated date.
  • Current campaign status.

This is the reference view for confirming which sender and audience are attached to the campaign before reviewing delivery results.

The Details tab brings together the campaign overview and its configured message variations.

Review message variations

The Variations section displays each WhatsApp message version. Select a variation to review:

  • The variation name or internal subject.
  • A preview of the message content.
  • The traffic allocation percentage assigned to that variation.

Use variations to compare different message approaches while keeping the same audience and campaign objective. Check that allocations add up to the distribution you intend to use before publishing.

Monitor delivery and engagement

The Insights tab provides delivery and engagement analytics. The main summaries include:

  • Targeted Recipients.
  • Delivery Rate.
  • Open Rate, when open data is available.

The Targeted summary can break down total targeted recipients, sent messages, dropped messages, and failed messages. The Delivery Rate summary can show delivered, undelivered, and pending messages.

Read the WhatsApp delivery pipeline

The WhatsApp Delivery Pipeline follows each message through these stages:

  1. Target Recipients
  2. Queued
  3. Sending Done
  4. Sent
  5. Delivered
  6. Opened

The pipeline also separates unsuccessful or incomplete outcomes:

  • Failed: the message could not be processed due to an error.
  • Undelivered: the message was accepted for sending but was not delivered successfully.
  • Pending: delivery confirmation is still outstanding.
  • Dropped: the message was discarded before delivery because it no longer met delivery requirements or campaign conditions.

The Delivery & engagement table compares the variations by sent count, delivery status, delivery rate, and open rate. Use it to identify the message version and audience setup that is performing best.
