In-App Push Campaigns
Create and analyze in-app notifications for customers who are active in your website or application.
In-App Push Campaigns deliver notifications to customers while they are active in your website or application. They can promote offers, guide a customer to a key action, recover abandoned activity, and support conversion goals without relying on an external messaging channel.
Manage In-App Push campaigns
Use the campaign list to create a campaign, search for it later, review its notification count and creation date, and access campaign actions. A campaign can contain more than one notification, allowing your team to run different messages or follow-up sequences under one campaign.
Create an In-App Push campaign
The creation flow has three numbered steps: Campaign Information & Audience, Notification Builder, and Timing.
1. Add campaign information and audience
The first screen contains two panels.
In Campaign Information, enter:
- Campaign Name for internal identification.
- Language for the notification content.
In Audience information, select the intended Send to list and/or Send to segment. Use a contact list for a defined group of contacts, or a segment when the audience should be based on customer data or behavior.
2. Build notifications
Start by defining how traffic is shared between notification variations. The total allocation must equal 100%. Use Add Variation when you want to test another title, message, or action; then adjust the allocation for each variation.
Use Notification Builder to create the content for every variation. Each notification can include:
- A title.
- A message body.
- A target action and URL.
- An optional image.
- Up to two optional action buttons.
Use the first-name and last-name fallback fields when your message contains personalization placeholders. These values are shown only when a recipient profile does not contain the requested value, helping every notification remain readable. Switch between the Android and iOS preview to verify the final presentation before moving on.
Supported actions include opening a web page, opening a web view, and any additional custom action configured for your business.
3. Set timing
Use Timing to determine when the push campaign should run. Choose Draft to save unfinished work, Schedule for a future date and time, Send Now to launch immediately, or Recurring for regular delivery. Before completing the flow, review the audience and notification action so users receive the right message at the appropriate time.
Review notification variations
The Campaign Variations view begins with a summary of the campaign name, number of variations, and creation date. Below it, metric cards show how each campaign is performing:
- Delivered and delivery rate.
- Impressions and dismissed notifications.
- Clicks and click rate.
- Conversion Rate and total conversions.
- Sales, including generated revenue and orders.
The notification table provides the operational view for each notification. Review its Title, Message, Action, Allocation, Status, and Created At value. This makes it easier to compare multiple push messages and identify the version that best supports the campaign goal.
Analyze performance
Use delivery to confirm that the notification reached active users, then use impressions, dismissals, clicks, conversions, sales, and orders to understand its impact. High delivery with low impressions can indicate that the notification was not seen; high impressions with low clicks can indicate that the message or action needs refinement.
